Here are some examples of my musical style. I perform in duos, trios, large ensembles, but my first love is solo guitar.
The Night Has a Thousand Eyes
I first heard this tune on Earl Klugh’s 2005 album Naked Guitar. I instantly wanted to learn this tune and figure out a way to come up with an arrangement as beautiful as Mr. Klugh. I don’t know if I accomplished that goal, but I love playing this tune and figuring out new ways of approaching it.
All the Things You Are
Arguably the most recorded jazz standard ever, this a performance is of some ideas to just came to me one day. I have been playing this song for decades, and it never gets boring.
Have You Met Miss Jones
From the musical comedy I’d Rather Be Right, Have You Met Miss Jones was composed by Lorenz Hart and Richard Rogers in 1937. This is one of my favorite tunes, in terms of the melody and at-times-tricky harmonic movement.
In a Mellow Tone
A classic, catchy melody from Duke Ellington, In a Mellow Tone was composed in 1939. This is my solo guitar performance of an arrangement by the late, great Howard Morgen.
Beautiful Love
This is recording comes from a performance with the Mile High Hot Club. Beautiful Love is a standard that comes from the 1932 movie The Mummy, and it was composed by Wayne King, Victor Young, and Egbert Van Alstyne.
